Over the past few years, we have been working closely with brands to buy more sustainable lines of outdoor apparel and equipment. We have not arrived yet but we are on the journey and are very happy with some of the products we now stock. We support brands that have environmental responsibility as a priority.

Sustainable Brands: An overview

Salewa  Salewa are also a company that takes sustainability and reducing their impact on the environment very seriously. You can read their social and environmental care commitments on their website.

Icebreaker  Icebreaker as a brand are leading the way in reducing their impact on the environment. They are currently 91% Merino or plant-based vs only 9% remaining synthetic. Their aim is to be a completely plastic-free company by 2023. Icebreaker use Merino wool that reaches ZQ Merino standard for Animal Welfare.

Smartwool  As we mentioned previously wool is one of the most sustainable insulation fibres available. That is paired with Smartwool’s plastic-free packaging. Smartwool also uses ZQ-Certified Merino wool.
