2200km, 3000 polar bears and 3 kayakers over 3 months

Hosted by the Great Outdoors and East Coast Sea Kayaking Club

New Zealanders Tara Mulvany and Jaime Sharp, along with Norwegian Per Gustav Porsanger, are believed to be the first sea kayakers to circumnavigate the Norwegian Arctic archipelago of Svalbard (Spitzbergen).

The remarkable journey which took them to just 9º S of the North Pole, was completed in 71 days over the summer of 2015.kayaking

Tara Mulvany will present her slide show on Svalbard circumnavigation on Wednesday the 25th November at 7:00pm in Great Outdoors on Chatham St.

Everyone is welcome , €5 euro entry fee at the door. Proceeds to Movember, men’s health charity.
