    "Meindl XCR"

Great boot, extremely comfortable to hike in..Like wearing a pair of slippers. However they have a flaw and that is the stitching at the sides of the front of the boot bursts after about 5 months of wearing them..I have gone through 2 pairs and both have had the stitching burst..I would give them a 6.5 of out 10 for waterproofing....

    "Meindal Respond Midlands Gortex"

Bought these boots 12 months ago and literally haven't taken them off..They are the most comfortable boot I have ever owned. They are great for track hikes where the round is reasonably flat. The down side to these boots is there ability to keep your feet dry..There waterproof ability is very poor.Feet can get wet when a heavy showers of rain comes down. The boot itself can take a lot of punishment and lasted me a full year.I would have hiked about 6 miles a day ,5 days a week in them.
