Suunto Ambit3 Sport – the multisport experience: specialized features for running, swimming and cycling

The new Suunto Ambit3 Sport packs all the features needed for running, swimming, cycling and multisport training. The GPS provides accurate pace, route navigation and tracking, while the heart rate monitor lets you train within your ideal zone.

Suunto Ambit3 Peak

The new flagship of the Suunto Ambit family is the Ambit3 Peak, the successor of the award-winning Suunto Ambit2. This is the watch for serious adventurers and athletes – packing Suunto’s hallmark outdoor functions such as route navigation, barometric information, altimeter with FusedAltiTM, 3D compass and other outdoor specific features.

The Ambit3 Peak has double the battery life (up to 50 hours in GPS mode) compared to Ambit3 Sport, and its tough design with a glass fibre reinforced casing and a stainless steel bezel make this watch ready to take a beating in any conditions. The Sapphire edition comes with a sapphire crystal glass for ultimate durability.

New Suunto Smart Sensor for heart rate tracking.

The Suunto Smart Sensor is a new solution for heart rate monitoring. The revolutionary design makes it the smallest Bluetooth®Smart compatible heart rate sensor on the market, tracking heart rate accurately and with great comfort. Using MovesenseTM technology, the new Suunto Smart Sensor can be attached to the new Suunto heart rate belt, or to compatible sports apparel. When attached to the Suunto heart rate belt, the Suunto Smart Sensor now even record heart rate from your swims. While swimming, your heart rate data is stored in the sensor, and when out of water, the data is transferred wirelessly to your Ambit3 Peak watch or Suunto Ambit3 Sport HR version, and the belt can also be purchased separately and used with the Suunto Movescount App or other Bluetooth® Smart compatible devices.

Suunto Movescount App for iPhone and iPad

The free Suunto Movescount App is a stand-alone app enabling easy tracking and sharing, whether you are a Suunto watch owner or not. The app will be for Phone and iPad from the App store from September. An android version will be announced later.

With the Suunto Movescount App, you can take photos showing your real-time speed, distance or other details in the photo. The app also offers a great way to showcase your adventures to your friends on social media. With one tap you can turn your move into a “Suunto Movie” – an animation of your journey visualized with a 3D map, where highlights and photos of the adventure are embedded along the track. The Suunto Movies can even be created on moves done in the past, as long as they are stored in Movescount. To see an example, check out the Suunto Movie of Kilian Jornet’s recent record ascent of Denali on Suunto.com.

Smart Mobile Connection for Suunto Ambit3 watches

Paired with the Ambit3 watches the Suunto Movescount App turns your GPS watch into a multifunctional smart watch. You can wirelessly upload your moves with the Suunto Ambit3 watch, change watch settings and keep time and GPS data updated on the go using the Suunto Movescount App in your iPhone or iPad. You can also receive call and text notifications on the watch; you don’t need to stop your training to see who is calling. When cycling, you can mount your phone on your bike and turn it into a second display of your watch.
