All measurements are body measurements in centimetres (cm). Use the charts below for Men's and Women's clothing, gloves and hats.

Men's Clothing

All measurements are body measurements in cm. Jackets for extreme conditions are cut slightly more generous to accommodate thicker midlayers.

Tip: If between sizes, go up to the larger size. For expedition or alpine jackets designed for use with heavy midlayers, consider your intended layering when choosing — you may prefer a size down if wearing fewer layers beneath.

How to Measure — Men's Clothing

ChestMeasure the full circumference of your chest just below your armpits, keeping the tape horizontal.

WaistFind the top of your hip and measure the full circumference around your body at that point.

Arm LengthMeasure horizontally from the centre of your back, across the shoulder, over a naturally bent elbow and down to the wrist fold.

Inside LegMeasure from your crotch to the base of your ankle while standing straight.

Women's Clothing

How to Measure — Women's Clothing

Chest / BustMeasure the full circumference of your chest just below your armpits, keeping the tape horizontal.

WaistFind the top of your hip and measure the full circumference around your body at that point.

HipMeasure around the widest part of your hip area, keeping the tape horizontal.

Arm LengthMeasure horizontally from the centre of your back, across the shoulder, over a naturally bent elbow and down to the wrist fold.

Inside LegMeasure from your crotch to the base of your ankle while standing straight.

Gloves & Mitts

Hand circumference and hand length in centimetres (cm). Measure your dominant hand. If between sizes, size up.

Tip: Always measure both hand circumference and hand length, and use the larger of the two to determine your size. For liner gloves, consider sizing down for a snug fit.

How to Measure — Gloves

Hand CircumferenceMeasure the circumference around the fullest part of your hand — around the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Keep fingers relaxed.

Hand LengthMeasure from the base of your wrist to the tip of your middle finger in a straight line.

Use the Larger SizeIf your circumference and length measurements suggest different sizes, always use the larger of the two for the best fit.

Between Sizes?Go up to the next size for a more comfortable fit. Gloves that are too tight restrict blood flow and reduce warmth.

Hats & Caps

Head circumference in centimetres (cm), measured around the widest part of the head just above the eyebrows.

Note: Most Rab hats come in one size, designed to comfortably fit a head circumference of 55–60 cm. If your head is smaller or larger than this range, try one on in store to confirm the fit.

How to Measure — Hats

Wrap the TapeWrap a soft tape measure around the thickest part of your head — usually around the forehead, just above the eyebrows and ears.

Keep it LevelMake sure the tape is level all the way around your head. Don't pull it tight — keep it snug but comfortable.

Find Your SizeNote the measurement in cm and match it to the chart above. Most Rab beanies and hats are one size and fit 55–60 cm comfortably.
