How to Measure — Footwear
1
Foot Length
Place your foot on paper and mark the heel and the tip of the longest toe. Measure the distance in mm. Use the larger foot if they differ.
2
Measure in the Afternoon
Feet naturally swell throughout the day. Measure in the afternoon or evening for the most accurate fit.
3
Wear Your Hiking Socks
For hiking boots and trail shoes, always measure while wearing the socks you plan to use — this can affect your size by up to half a size.
4
Between Sizes?
Go up to the larger half size for a more comfortable fit, especially for hiking and trail running where toe room is important on descents.
Women's Footwear
All measurements sourced from Merrell's official size chart. Japan sizing is in centimetres (cm).
Tip: If you are between sizes, Merrell recommends going up to the next half size. For hiking boots, wear the socks you plan to hike in when trying on for the best fit.
