I’ve owned at least one Leatherman since 1997 when I worked in film production. The various models I’ve owned have all been incredibly reliable and robust. I’ve managed to break the top of the knife, the scissors and the tip of the tip of the small flathead and while they have a lifetime guarantee I’ve used the breaks to buy a new one! This obsidian version feels like an EDC collector item. The black finish is very nice. Like the addition of the thumb nut to make the knife one handed deployment. Only disappointment is that for €250 they didn’t bother to include a carry pouch which for that money should have been a black leather sheath with a custom Leatherman button clasp. But hey , I still think it’s worth the investment as it will probably last me 10 years at least!
