Third pair in twenty years and they still are the best. Your foot is solidly secure without any tight straps, yet I feel you're excercising musles in your foot a boot would not allow. Brilliant bit of kit. You will wear them everywhere. On Hiking though, if you're decending an Irish mountain, in the wet in any sandal, and your angle gives out - maybe, just maybe, you should have worn your Meindls that are sitting in the car.
