Find Your Perfect La Sportiva Fit

La Sportiva uses European half sizes for a more precise fit. Use the charts below to convert between EU, UK, US and Mondopoint sizing for Men's and Women's footwear.

Men's Footwear
La Sportiva uses European half sizes — this gives more size options than US half sizes, resulting in a better fit. Mondopoint = foot length in mm.
Important: La Sportiva footwear typically runs up to one full size smaller than your everyday shoes. For hiking and mountain boots, go by your measured foot length. For climbing shoes, specialist fitting is recommended — they are typically worn 1–2 sizes smaller.

How to Measure — Footwear

1
Foot Length Place your foot on paper, mark the heel and longest toe, and measure the distance in mm. This is your Mondopoint. Use the larger foot if they differ.
2
Measure in the Evening Feet swell throughout the day. Measure in the afternoon or evening for the most accurate result.
3
Hiking Boots Wear your hiking socks when measuring. Add a half size for toe room. EU half sizes give you a more precise fit than US sizing.
4
Between Sizes? For hiking and mountain boots, always go up to the larger size. For climbing shoes, go to the smaller size for better precision.

Beginner's Guide to Choosing Climbing Shoes

Beginner's Guide to Choosing Climbing Shoes

Fit first: Snug and secure, but no painful pressure points or numb toes.

Sizing: Usually tighter than everyday shoes, but don’t downsize aggressively.

Shape: Match the shoe to your foot — narrow/wide, high/low volume, toe shape.

Downturn: Flat/neutral = comfort & beginner-friendly; downturned = steep/technical climbing.

Stiffness: Softer = sensitivity; stiffer = support on small edges.

Closure: Velcro = quick/convenient; laces = precise fit.

Best advice: Try several pairs in person, ideally at the end of the day when feet are slightly larger.
