Signal Multi-tool

The Leatherman Signal is the only compact multi-tool on the market with a ferro rod, emergency whistle, and hammer built in as standard. These are not novelty additions — they are purpose-designed survival and field tools that make the Signal a genuinely different proposition from every other multi-tool in the Leatherman range. Nineteen tools, 7.5oz, Cerakote-finished stainless steel frame, and backed by Leatherman's 25-year warranty.

• Ferrocerium rod with emergency whistle — the ferro rod is housed in the body of the emergency whistle, keeping both tools integrated and accessible. The rod produces a strong spark when struck against the back of the saw blade — the serrated spine acts as the striker. The ferro rod is replaceable when worn down. Both tools are designed as field backups rather than primary survival kit, but at 1.75 inches the ferro rod is fully capable of igniting prepared tinder.
• Hammer with hammer lock — a hardened hammer surface built into the frame for driving tent stakes, rock gear, or campsite hardware. The hammer lock mechanism keeps the Signal securely closed when the hammer is in use, preventing the handles from opening unexpectedly under impact.
• 420HC combo blade with thumb hole — 2.73-inch blade with a straight edge for slicing and a serrated section for rope, webbing, and tough materials. Opens one-handed via thumb hole, locks open, Black Oxide finish. A built-in diamond-coated sharpener lets you touch up the edge in the field without carrying a separate tool.
• Premium replaceable wire cutters — both the standard and hard-wire cutters are replaceable in the field. When the cutting edges dull from sustained use on cable, wire, or electrical work, the cutter inserts swap out rather than requiring the whole tool to be returned.
• 19 tools with full locking — every implement locks open, including the saw, awl, can opener, bit driver, and box wrenches. Outside-accessible blade and saw deploy without opening the plier handles.
• 1/4" Hex Bit Drive with included bits — the bit driver accepts 1/4" hex bits; Phillips #1-2 and a 3/16" screwdriver bit are included. The carabiner provides a dedicated attachment point for clipping to a pack, harness, or gear loop without a separate sheath.
• Cerakote frame finish — the 420 stainless steel handles carry a Cerakote ceramic coating, adding corrosion resistance and surface durability in wet, abrasive, or saltwater field conditions.
