• Package opener — a dedicated serrated hook-style opener on the outside of the tool that slices through cardboard packaging, shrink wrap, and tape without the blade going deep enough to damage what is inside the box. A specific, practical tool that no other Leatherman in the current range carries.
• Spring-action pliers — the plier jaws open automatically via an internal spring after each squeeze, reducing the sustained hand effort of repeated gripping and making the Wingman noticeably less tiring to use than non-spring plier tools on extended tasks.
• One-hand combo blade with blade lock — the knife deploys one-handed and locks open. It carries a combo edge with a plain section for clean slicing and a serrated section for rope, packaging, and tougher materials.
• Outside-accessible tools — the knife, scissors, and several other implements are accessible from the closed position without opening the plier handles first. Faster access for the tools used most frequently.
• Spring-action scissors — outside-accessible and spring-action, snapping back open after each cut.
