How to Measure — Clothing

Chest / Bust Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades. Keep the tape firm and level.

Waist Measure around the natural waistline, allowing the tape to sit comfortably. Do not pull too tight.

Hips Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, keeping the tape horizontal.

Inseam Measure from the top of the inner leg down to the bottom of the ankle while standing upright.

Sleeve Start at the centre back of the neck, over the shoulder and down to the wrist. Round up to the next even number.

Hand Length Measure from the base of the thumb to the tip of the middle finger on a flat, open hand.
Men's Footwear
Columbia footwear uses standard EU / UK / US sizing. Foot length in cm is provided for the most accurate fit.
Tip: When in doubt between sizes, go half a size up — especially for hiking boots where you'll be wearing thicker socks.

Foot Length Place your foot on a flat surface. Measure from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe.

Best Time to Measure Measure in the afternoon or evening — feet naturally swell throughout the day for the most accurate fit.

Half Sizes If you're between sizes, choose the larger half size, particularly for hiking and trail footwear.

Sock Thickness When measuring for hiking or winter boots, wear the type of socks you plan to use — this affects your ideal size.
